I'm currently enjoying a BBC documentary/reality tv show called Art School which follows five celebrities on a two week intensive art school course. One of the tutors on the course is artist Jo Bruton. Surprised I haven't encountered her work before, anyway I love her paintings! Love the Beautiful colours, bold graphic style and the mirroring of her trademark diptych canvases. She uses a mixture of collage, acrylic and glass beads on canvas. Found this quote on a website - "The surface is manufactured almost totally out of a layer of fine beads, usually used for the reflective sections of paint on the road. Whilst this makes the surface appear complete, it can never be grasped from any one angle."
I imagine these canvases would look stunning in the flesh.

that show looks really cool! i wish we had something like it in the states....

That looks like a fabulous show.
I wonder if we can find it on BBC america.
Or I bet some american producer will copy it and make it horrible.

lisa/Wendy - This show is fantastic but it's only on TV for 2 weeks, which seems too short! Anyway it's a great idea for a show...
