Using a colour that I have never really used before - Yellow Ochre. Not entirely happy with this week's drawings, but it is still a good exercise to try colours that I would usually shy away from. Maybe one week I might even draw something other than flowers ?!

really loving the color combos.
reminds me of something i've seen lately ....

These are wonderful natalie...I really like the colour, it does something wonderful to the lines...really beautiful. I think the top one is my fave, really delicate papery petals..lovely :)

Maria – hmm sounds interesting ;) Happy you like the colour combo – I sometimes like sometimes dislike. Makes me think of next week’s colour pairing
Wendy – Thanks, glad you like. I need to push things more, I am guilty of staying in the comfort zone for too long – I’m lazy!
Michelle – thanks for visiting and commenting – I will look forward to exploring your blog
Lisa – Thanks. The exercise is good because it forces me to explore colour a bit. I took the lead to do this from you – so thanks!
Jan – Thank you for the nice description! The ochre was good to use for a change. Gareth suggested last night that it might be quite nice paired with a really light blue colour – might try it!
Miss Trop – Thanks. I can imagine it is a colour that 50% will like and 50% will hate!
Abigail – Thanks. I think the top one is my favourite too. Papery petals is a nice description!

I never would have thought of combining those two colours. I especially love the silver veining in the second drawing.

Like Zhenia-I would have never thought of the colors together-but you make it work. I am so interested to see what you and amv are dreaming up---and a non floral drawing :)

I LOVE yellow, in all its shades - especially like the middle one, the way it dangles down in to the middle of the page. Enjoying reading your blog. Cheers, LJ

oooh. really love the ochre, there is something very mysterious and rich about it. Reminds me a little of art nouveau posters..

Zhenia – I didn’t pick these colours until I seen them on the shop shelve. Maybe I picked them because there wasn’t that many other colours in stock :)
Risa – Thank you. I am starting to like the colours now!
Abby – ooooh time will tell ;)
Louise – Hi, thanks for visiting and commenting. Which is great because now I have discovered you!

oh my. such wonderful work. I really, really love the way what you draw just hovers in the white space-- it almost looks like thread. There is such a nice, light, touch. Hard to do, but looks deceptively simplistic. I love the ochre pieces very much. Nice twist with the color!
