Yet another illness...my immune system is thoroughly run down...Back to work tomorrow, armed with high grade echinacea, and shall be taking things s.l.o.w
{does anyone have any tips to boost immune system and stop feeling run down?}
Anyway thinking about spring, and how uncomfortable i feel with spring summer clothes - always have done. I much prefer to be wrapped in scarves and wool. However I have picked a few items for a spring wardrobe (I don't have the £ for the real thing but I can have the virtual outfit!)
1. A new haircut - I love this photograph of Anna Karina EDIT sorry this is Françoise Hardy - oh dear I get my style icons mixed up. Sorry Anna!
2. Gorgeous little vintage glass earings from "This is Naive" shop
3. If I had the cash I would fill my wardrobe with "Built by Wendy" blouses
4. I adore this bag but saved the photo months ago and never noted the maker - anyone recognise it?
5. Blue patent sandles from Topshop
Such pretty chooses Natalie....so sorry to hear you aren't feeling great :(
I have felt really grotty since about Christmas, just generally guff and run down, but have found in the last few weeks that Actimel (wee drinky things) have really helped, along with the tai chi...so not expected but it is apparently great for the immune system. Oh...and treating yourself to pretty things is a MUST to feel better too ;P
get better hugs to you Xox

Abigail - thank you! Guff is definitely the best word to describe how i feel...I am going to try a serious health kick this week, lots of fruit and veg. My boyfriend has tried the little probiotic drinks and he says they are very good too. I didn't realise that tai chi was good for the immune system! great stuff
Recently, I have been organising free yoga classes for work colleagues and ironically the stress involved organising everything i think has made me ill! haha

Hehe...see! Excercise isn't really good for you AT ALL!!! ;P....you probably just need a bit of down-time to chill out and relax, the detox week sounds like a plan! Lots of ginger to help with nausea (that Innocent detox smoothie is nice for that!!) is good!...let us know if you discover any power foods en route! Xox

oh natalie.... not feeling well is the worst... rest, water, vitamins, yummy food....
also whenever i get a twinge of feeling sick i take some oregano oil [it's awful stuff - burns] a couple of drops in warmish water with a juice chaser.... it's a super potent anti-bacterial/fungal... all natural.... helped me kick plenty of colds and flus....
your spring stuff is adorable.... FEEL BETTER!!! [you definitely need a treat!!]

oh no! get well soon! i have no remedies for you, unfortunately.
i went to a hair stylist in july and asked for a haircut almost exactly like the one you pictured. i was SO excited when i went in, i knew it was THE haircut for me. lets just say that the way she did it was not like the picture. she told me that the girls hair was the same length as mine- wrong. mine was about 5 inches longer. so she left my normal length and cut this layer into my hair at my ear line! it looked SO horrible. then she puffed it out like a bubble and goes "just like mrs. brady, well...almost" she used a razor and wow, my hair has never been so damaged before. so im finally almost to the point where i can get it cut again but it was so bad after she razored it that i couldnt even run my fingers through my hair! the ends would just snarl and they were so dead and split and frayed. uugh. so i just started cutting my own hair.

Get well soon Natalie, I'm also at home ill, gastritis. The troops arrive today. Fingers crossed the weather here improves so we can get out and about.
Hope you enjoy the yoga today!

I am obsessed with the yellow shirt on Naive...I think it's xgLA. I love yellow right now. What helps me is LOTS of sleep. And drink lots of water at room temp, not cold. Also, drink either chicken broth or miso....I think salty stuff helps. And keep warm....get well soon!

By far the best anti-bacterial, -viral, -fungal immune-system booster that you can get is an Amazonian herb variously called Pau D'arco or Lapacho. You get it in vegicaps from www.riohealth.co.uk. Take two capsules a day in the morning and you'll be right as rain in no time. It's a wonderful medicine, much used in hospitals all over South America, but almost totally ignored in Europe.

all that stuff is so lovely! i too have seasonal clothing dilemas, and i pretty much always get it wrong by either wearing too much or too little - other people seem to drift so effortlessly through the seasons it actually makes me wonder if there is something *wrong* with me!

An old and good remedy for when you're at the tail end of any exhaustive ilness is an Infusion of Rosemary.
I pick a long stalk of fresh Rosemary but dried would be ok too. I simmer in water in a pot for 5 mins, enough for 1 or 2 cups. I like it best with honey cause it's a pretty strong taste.
Only drink it in the morning or middle of the day, not at night cause it'll keep you awake.
Also good for concentration during exams etc. Hope you feel better soon, I really do sympathise.
