Beautiful ceramics from Michael McDowell...
'Inspired by modern Brazilian design, this vintage fine china cup and saucer set has been re-vitalized and re-fired with a modern abstract design and gold luster accents'

First of all - THANK YOU! for all your supportive and encouraging comments on my previous post. I struggle with exposing my feelings in this space, but it feels great to just put what has been bothering me down in words and in a way removing those thoughts from my head. I appreciate your support so much!
Something I am very happy about is being able to contribute to the Kim Family Auction. The auction starts today and will be done through ebay. I have loved looking at the wonderful selection of goods that are on offer. So many favourites. Many thanks to Lisa, Stephanie and their mum Gerrie for organising the auction.
Influenced by Mav's discussion about being part of an online community and Camilla's comment about thinking of other's personalities and style.
I found this fantastic online resource through Ghost School. The Grammar of Ornament has been scanned with high resolutions available to browse. Very inspiring!
The two pages made me think of other bloggers. The top page reminded me of Lena Corwin's posts about pattern, and the bottom page made me think of the work of Abigail Percy.
I love to visit the The Lighthouse shop in Glasgow. Their changing display of large name designers such as Marimekko and their support of new designers is always a delight to see.
Some present designers within the shop are:
Teresa Green Design - Textile design and interior products
Alison MacLeod - Jewellery
Creepy Tree - Screenprinted cards
Anna Lewis - Screenprinted Leather Jeweller
Glasgow!
First up, Abigail Percy Glasgow based Jeweller. Her stunning jewellery is what I have been looking years for but have never found. Her work is organic, elegant, linear, feminine, modern, traditional......perfect! I will be saving to treat myself to some of her beautiful earrings (see bleow).
Tonight I stopped by a recently opened knitting boutique called K1 Yarns and spoke with the charming and super friendly owner Katharine. This place was so beautifully displayed with all the yarns in white tin buckets hanging on the wall (picture below). Amazing! The variety of stock was so varied I was overwhelmed by the choice. K1 Yarns also sell magazines and yarn that are hard to find in UK, like these beautiful wooden Brittany knitting needles made in the US. I feel very strongly about supporting independent and local businesses and I really wish Katharine well with her business. I will definitely be doing my knitting shopping from there alone from now on.
A new redesign and some new motivation (just wish I could do my own artwork full-time!) Don't seem to have enough time to do the projects that I would like to do, and tend to flit from one project to another too much meaning nothing gets finished...Anyway here is some latest inspiration. Enjoy :)
